Hill catches fire
A hill adjoining Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) radar office in Battali area of the port city caught fire yesterday.
The fire originated around 2:30pm while some street urchins went to the hill to collect dry leaves and firewood, said Lama Bazar Fire Station sources.
A fire fighting unit from the station along with a BAF rescue team rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
The incident caused no damage except for some hilly bushes and few trees gutted in the fire, the sources added.
