Cannabis, Yaba tablets seized
Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested four people and seized 4 KGs of cannabis and 670 pieces of yaba tablet allegedly from their possession in the port city on Saturday.
The arrestees are Nurul Kabir, 25, Rokeya 28, Asma Akter, 21, and Md Mofiz, 24, all hailed from Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
On information, a DB team conducted a drive in front of Karnaphuli City Garden Market near Noya Bridge area around 6:30pm on Saturday and arrested Kabir and Rokeya with the cannabis worth Tk 30,000 to 32,000, said SM Tanvir Arafat, assistant commissioner of DB.
In another drive same day in front of the New Railway Station area opposite to Hotel Manila, DB personnel arrested Asma and Mofiz with the yaba tablets worth more than Tk 1 lakh hidden inside Asma's Shoes, said Tanvir.
