2 Ctg superstores fined
A mobile court fined two superstores Tk 65,000 in the port city on Tuesday on charge of mixing formalin in fruits and food items.
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) assisted the drive headed by District Administration Executive Magistrate Jannatul Ferdous.
Conducting drives in the city from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday, the team detected the use of formalin in the fruits and some food items of Well Mart superstore at GEC intersection and Meena Bazar superstore at Sholashahar.
The court, accompanied by representatives of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutions, fined Well Mart Tk 15,000 and Meena Bazar Tk 50,000, said a press release.
