'Solve Indo-Bangla disputes'
India and Bangladesh should work together, solving the existing problems and differences for the prosperity of the two neighbours, speakers said at a book launch yesterday.
Mentioning the issues of Teesta treaty and border killing, Prof Anwar Hossain, president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA), said the incidents had enraged the people of the country.
He said India, as a big neighbour, had to solve the problem.
The relationship between Bangladesh and India is beautiful and fruitful, said Sanjay Bhattacharyya, acting high commissioner of India.
"Looking Beyond Boundaries", a book by journalist and writer Haroon Habib, was launched at Liberation War Museum in the city yesterday. Shahitya Prakash, the publisher, organised the unveiling ceremony.
Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi, Editor of The Independent Mahbubul Alam, former army chief Lt Gen (retd) Harun-Ar-Rashid, Bir Pratik, and Shahitya Prakash's Mofidul Hoque were also present.
