Youth held with firearms in Ctg
Police arrested a person with firearms in Pahartali Railway Station area of the port city yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcers conducted a drive in the rail station area and chased Mohammed Shahin, 25, of Lakshmipur district, and his cohorts while they were getting ready for committing crimes, said police.
Only Shahin was arrested as his associates managed to flee the scene.
Police also seized a local gun, four bullets and two Chinese machetes from Shahin's possession.
