Two restaurants fined for using gas illegally
A mobile court on Tuesday fined two restaurants in the port city Tk 5,000 each on charge of tampering gas meters.
Abdullah Arif, executive magistrate of the district administration, led the drive with assistance from Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7).
The team found illegal use of gas for cooking purposes at Mohammadia Hotel and Restaurant Firingi Bazar in Kotwali and New Khaja Azmir Hotel and Biriani House in Bandar area.
The fine was deposited in the government treasury, said a press release.
Sarowar Hossain, engineer of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company, accompanied the team.
