Four arrested with cannabis
Police, in separate drives, arrested four persons and recovered four kilograms of cannabis and 60 bottles of locally prepared contraband liquor in the port city.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police launched a drive in Majhirghat area and caught a person with the cannabis yesterday.
The arrested person is Md Afsar, 18 hailing from Comilla, said a press release.
In another drive, a team of DB police arrested three people along with the contraband liquor from Patharghata under Kotwali Police Station.
The arrestees are Jahanjir Alam, 58, Bisnu Pada Dhar, 55, Sambhu Dey, 56.
