Old man dies as train hits
An old man was killed as a train hit him in Kawgaon area under Dinajpur Sadar upazila yesterday.
The victim was identified as Kanderi Barman, 75, of Paschim Saitara village under Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur.
Police quoting witnesses said a train from Lalmonirhat hit the man on the bridge near Kawgaon Railway Station while he was crossing the bridge at around 12:00pm.
After being hit, Kanderi fell in the dry canal under the bridge.
He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
