3 die in road crashes
Three people, including a minor boy, died in separate road accidents in Jessore, Netrakona and Rangpur yesterday.
Our Benapole correspondent reports: Bina Rani, 60, wife of Noni Mistri of Kaliganj upazila in Jhenidah, sustained serious injuries as she fell down from a running Nosiman (three-wheeler) at Patibila in Chougachha upazila of Jessore yesterday morning.
She died on the way to Jessore Medical College Hospital.
In Rangpur, a pick-up van ran over Akash, 5, son of Belal Ahmed, on Rangpur-Pirgachha road at Jorindra in the sadar upazila, killing him instantly at about 9:00am yesterday.
Following the accident, agitating people put up barricades on the road in the area for about four hours.
In Netrakona, Akkas Mia, 60, of Khaliajuri upazila, was killed on the spot when a three-wheeler hit him on Mohonganj-Khaliajuri road at Lepsia Bazar in the upazila at about 9:00am yesterday morning.
