4 die in road crash
Four people, including two of a family, were killed in a road accident in Hathazari upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The victims are Baby Akter, 35, her nephew Jamir Uddin, 30, of East Mekhal; Didarul Alam, 52, of West Mekhal in the upazila; and Jamal Uddin, 28, of Netrakona.
Qazi Masud, sub-inspector of Hathazari Police Station, said a Chittagong-bound speeding truck rammed an auto-rickshaw carrying them on Chittagong-Hathazari road near the police station at around 10:30pm, killing the four on the spot.
