Saad Murder in Rajshahi
Two main accused arrested
Police arrested two main accused in the Rajshahi College student Saad murder case from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital city yesterday.
According to investigating officer (IO) sub-inspector Alamgir Jahan of Rajpara PS, the arrestees are Sweet Raza, 22, son of Rezaul Karim of Rohonpur and Al Awal Koel, 21, son of Abdul Alim of Gomostapur in Chapainawabganj district.
Acting on a tip off, a police team from Rajpara PS caught both of them from near the Eye Hospital area around 6am.
The IO said that four of the six accused, who were earlier arrested in judicial confession, described Sweet and Koel as the key accused.
The four accused are Oishi Khatun, Masud Ibne Ali alias Shawon, Kaisar Ahmed Anik and Rashedul Islam Bipu.
In their confessional statement they said that Sweet and Koel masterminded the murder after failing to realise ransom money from Saad's parents.
Nadimuzzaman Saad, a student of HSC first year at Rajshahi Model School and College, was abducted from his home on January 17 evening.
He was murdered on the following day and dumped into a septic tank.
