Man jailed for rape
A mobile court sentenced a man to one year imprisonment for violating a four-and-half-year-old baby girl in Hakimpur upazila yesterday. The convict is Younus Ali, son of late Afur Uddin of Boigram Dakkhinpara village. Quoting family members, police said Younus lured the girl to a lone place and tried to rape her. Hearing the hue and cry, locals rescued the victim from the spot and caught the rapist. Later, he was handed over to police and produced before the court, said Helal Uddin, officer in-charge of Hakimpur police station.
