10 houses at Ashrayan Project gutted
At least 10 houses constructed for the landless people were gutted in a fire broke out at Tenapocha Ashrayan Project under Debgram union in Goalanda upazila early Tuesday.
Locals said the fire originated at the house of Shaheda Begum at about 5:00am and soon engulfed the nine other adjacent houses, burning down valuables worth Tk 1.5 lakh.
On information, fire fighters from the district headquarters rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of local people.
