Diarrhoea claims 3 in Lalmonirhat
Diarrhoea took an alarming turn in five upazilas claiming lives of three children and affecting scores of others in the last three days.
The victims are Alif Hossain, 7, son of Nayon Miah of Jagotber village in the Patgram upazila and Nusrat Khatun, 4, daughter of Taher Ali of Jhalongi village in the upazila while Morjina Khatun, 1, daughter of Mintu Miah of Paschim Sarodubi in Hatibandha upazila.
At least 125 children were admitted to Patgram, Aditmari, Hatibandha and Kaliganj upazila health complexes and Lalmonirhat General Hospital in the last three days after they were affected with the waterborne disease, said Lalmonihat civil surgeon office sources.
Of them, Nusrat died yesterday, Morjina on Monday and Alif Sunday, they added.
