Former T&T official murdered in Rangpur
A former official of Telephone and Telegraph office in the district was killed allegedly by throwing him from the rooftop of a building on Monday evening.
The victim was identified as Abdul Halim,61, retired accounts officer of T&T in Rangpur.
Kotwali police said, a gang numbering 3/4 claiming themselves as tenants entered the house of Dr Yusuf Ahmed at Islam Bagh in the town. Later they went to the second floor of the house where Abdul Halim resided.
Hamida Begum,47, sister-in-law of the deceased told this correspondent that the gang held her hostage at the bathroom and threw Halim from the rooftop and left the house immediately.
Locals found Abdul Halim dead and informed the police.
