RU female student stabbed
A female student of Rajshahi University (RU) was stabbed allegedly by a male student on the campus.
She was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with stab injury on her left arm.
The victim, a third year student of Statistics department, alleged that Zakir Hossain alias Rial, a final year student of the same department, stabbed her as she refused his love proposal.
Zakir along with some accomplices waylaid her on the campus and stabbed her while she was going to attend her class at around 8:30am, she said.
Zakir Hossain was not available for his comment. Statistics department Chairman Dr Muhammad Naser could not be reached over his mobile phone despite repeated attempt.
However, RU Proctor Prof Chowdhury Muhammad Zakaria told The Daily Star that he would look into the matter.
