Hearing on charge framing today
A Chittagong court yesterday fixed today to hear on the charge framing against BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury in a vandalism case.
On November 7, 2010, two cases, including the above mentioned, were filed under special powers act with Sitakunda Police Station hours after some BNP activists vandalised vehicles by barricading two spots on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, Banshbaria and Silimpur Paka Rasta, said police.
Four people arrested from the spots named Salauddin as their leader, added police.
Yesterday Salauddin was produced before the court where he was granted bail upon a Tk 50,000 bond, said Salauddin's lawyer Advocate Enamul Hoque.
Court sources said Salauddin's lawyers argued that his name was not mentioned in the first investigation report but in the charge-sheet on the basis of an arrestee's statement.
