Five drug peddlers jailed
Five drug paddlers were sentenced to jail in Tangail Sadar upazila yesterday
The convicts are Shahadat Hossain, 30, Moin Uddin, 32, and Saidul Islam, 35, of Namdar Kumulli village while Shah Alam Mia, 28, of Karatia Uttar Para and Tuton Miah, 30, of Karatia College Para area in the upazila.
Court sources said a joint team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Narcotics Control department conducted a drive in the area and arrested the drug peddlers.
Later, the arrestees were produced in a mobile court led by Jafar Rashed, assistant commissioner of land. After a hearing, the court penalised the five.
