840 Yaba tablets seized, 3 held
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in separate drives arrested three persons and seized 840 pieces of Yaba tablets in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar on Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab members raided car park area of Foy's Lake under Khulshi Police Station in the port city at around 10:00pm and seized 140 pieces of Yaba tablets worth about Tk 56,000 from the spot, the Rab sources said.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the drug peddlers fled the scene abandoning the tablets on the spot.
Meanwhile, in another drive, the elite force detained three alleged drug peddlers from a hotel in Cox's Bazar with 700 pieces of Yaba tablets worth about Tk 2.8 lakh on the same night.
The detainees are Akhtaruzzaman Lablu, 28, Saiful Islam, 26, and Md Safayet Ullah, 27, from Cox's Bazar.
Later, they were handed over to Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station.
