Woman murdered, husband arrested
A housewife was murdered in Kaharol upazila early Saturday allegedly by her husband.
The victim was identified as Surobala Roy, 32, wife of Anittya Roy of Ishanpur village of the upazila.
Kaharol police said, villagers saw the body of the victim at an open place at Mutunihat village and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
Police later arrested Anittya Roy, husband of the victim on charge of murder.
Subhash Chandra Roy, brother of the victim filed a case with Kaharol police station.
Rabiul Alam, officer in-charge (OC) of Kaharol police station said there were several marks of injuries on the body of the woman.
In Thakurgaon, police recovered the body of an unidentified woman, aged about 30, from a bamboo cluster at Rampur village under Ranishankoil upazila on Friday, reports our correspondent.
Officer in-charge of Ranishankoil police station Feroz Khan told this correspondent over cell phone that local people saw the body in one Ananta Roy's bamboo cluster at about 10:00am. Her hands and legs were tied up from behind with rope.
On information, police went to the village and recovered the body.
It seems that the woman might be a member of ethnic community, the OC added.
The body was sent to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A case was filed with Ranishankoil police station in this connection.
