Show cause on 7 teachers of Dinajpur medical college

Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital authorities have served show cause notices on seven teachers for remaining absent from offices for long without any valid leave procedure. The notices were served on Dr Md Abdul Salam, associate professor of cardiology department, Dr Md Safiullah, assistant professor of ENT department, Dr AKM Samsuddin, Dr Md Junnarain assistant professors of ophthalmology department, Dr Md Mahbub Rahman, assistant professor of gastroenterology department, Dr Md Abdul Jail, assistant professor of forensic and medicine department and Dr Golam Sarwar of respiratory medicine department. Sources said that the show cause notices were issued a few days ago. Dr Hamidul Haque Khandakar, Principal of Dinajpur Medical College said after certain official procedures, they will decide the next course of action against the aforesaid teachers. Sources said that the seven teachers have been skipping their jobs for the last several months. The medical college, which was found in 1992, has completed 13 batches of MBBS course. This year 141 students took admission and the number of total students at college now stands at 736. There are 127 posts of various teachers at the college but so for 95 teachers have been appointed till date for 736 students of different years. At least 32 posts of various teachers remained vacant for long, sources said. Moreover, 22 teachers of different departments are still on leave for higher education.
