Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested seven members of Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Tawhid along with jihadi (on uprising) books, CDs and leaflets in the district on Monday night. Rab-6 sources said a patrol team of the elite force arrested Abdur Rob Mistri,52, Shafiful Islam, 22, Zahirul Islam Tuku, 23, and Hanif Hawlader,55, along with 25 jihadi books, 18 CDs and 23 leaflets at Chowdhurirhat in Uzirpur upazila at 8:00 pm. OC Shukumar Chandra Roy of Uzirpur police station said the arrestees were sent to court yesterday noon. On their confessional statement, the elite force conducted a drive early in the morning and arrested Alamin Mollik, 40, Sumon Mollik, 22, and Khushi Akter, 24. During the raid, Rab recovered 360 jihadi books, 45 CDs and 300 leaflets from regional leader Alamin Mollik`s house at Gausia Road at Rupatoli in the city.
