Robbers loot two houses

A gang of Robbers looted cash and gold ornaments from two houses at Kolabaria village in Kalia upazila on Tuesday night. Police said, a gang of 10/12 entered the houses of one Tutul Sheikh and Kodor Mollah, confined the family members at gunpoint and took away the valuables worth about Tk three lakh. Md Sarwar Hossain, officer in-charge of Naragati Police Station, said they were trying to arrest the culprits. In Bogra, Robbers looted 50 maunds of green chili from a boat in Jamuna River at Chak Rathi in Sariakandi upazila on Monday afternoon, reports UNB. Police said a gang of robbers numbering 8/9 by an engine boat intercepted the boat of chili trader Jamal and his associates and took them hostage at gunpoint at about 8:00pm when they were going to Sariakandi from Chaluabari Char. Later, the bandits looted the chilies and fled the scene. Police arrested one Saheb Ali, 45, of Shimultair village in this connection.
