Four commit 'suicide' in Satkhira, Narsingdi
Four people allegedly committed suicide in Satkhira and Narsingdi districts yesterday.
In Satkhira, two people, including a college girl, allegedly committed suicide in Shyamnagar and Kaliganj upazilas, reports our correspondent.
The deceased were identified as Anjuara Begum, 17, of Iswaripur village in Shyamnagar upazila, and Monoranjan Shil, 40, of Shahapara village in Kaliganj upazila.
Quoting local people police said Anjuara, a first year student of Atorjan Mahila College in Shyamnagar, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at Iswaripur village at about 7:30 am yesterday. Police recovered the body and sent it to Satkhira morgue for post mortem.
In the other incident, Monoranjan allegedly committed suicide taking poison at his father-in-law's house at Thalna village in Kaliganj upazila at about 11:30 am yesterday.
Monoranjan had been residing at his father-in-laws' house at Thalna village. He was a private tutor. Police quoting victim's relatives said he committed suicide over family feud.
But the body of the victim was hurriedly cremated at a local crematorium near Bardah Bazar in the same upazila without autopsy due to unknown reasons, locals alleged.
Contacted, Kaliganj officer in-charge (OC) Syed Farid Uddin said they did not send the body to Satkhira hospital morgue as the victim's relatives opposed to it.
In Narsingdi, two sisters allegedly committed suicide by jumping under a train in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Khuki Begam, 45, and Shilpi Begam,20, both unmarried and daughters of late Abdus Sattar of Dakkhinpara in Baduar Char of the upazila.
Witnesses said the two siblings allegedly committed suicide near Rail Gate Bazar at Dakkhinpara at about 6:50 am jumping under a Dhaka-bound mail train coming from Chittagong.
Later, Railway police recovered the bodies and sent them to Narshingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
