Teachers of Kurigram Government College yesterday filed a case against Tosaddek Hossain Taposh, president of the college unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, for assaulting one of their colleagues. Taposh assaulted Mohammad Sadakat Hossain, a lecturer of philosophy department, for not allowing his relative to use a mobile phone during the admission test on Friday, sources said. Sadakat Hossain, an invigilator on duty, around 11:30am forbade an examinee to use her cellphone and asked her to switch it off. After the exam was over, Taposh along with six to seven of his associates rushed in and confined the teacher to a room of the academic building. Hearing the news, the vice-principal of the college along with several other teachers tried to control the situation. Suddenly, Taposh started kicking Sadakat. Following the incident, the college teachers' council called an urgent meeting and decided to file a case against Taposh.
