Fire kills over 1,000 hens
Over 1,000 hens died in Jainkathee area in the district town as fire broke out at a farm on Monday night.
Shahidul Islam, owner of Shaon Poultry Farm said, at about 1am when the locals failed to control the fire they informed the fire station. But over 1,000 hens of the farms were killed when the firefighters doused the fire.
Shahidul claimed that he incurred a loss of Tk 5 lakh due to the fire.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
