Tiger kills fisherman
A fisherman was killed in a tiger attack at Panabharani canal of Sundarbans in Koira upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was Gopal Munda, 40, son of Kalipad Munda of Borobari village in the upazila.
Kashiabad Forest Station sources said a tiger suddenly attacked Gopal and dragged him inside deep forest when he was catching crabs at about 10:00am.
Hearing the hue and cry, Gopal's cohorts and forest guards rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The victim used to maintain his livelihood by catching crab and fish in Sundarbans.
