UP member Khagendra creamated
Union parishad member Khagendra Nath Mondol, who committed suicide in Kaliganj upazila on the night of December 9, was cremated the following day.
Son of Chhatradhar Mondol of Tengramari village, Khagendra, 42, was elected from ward No 3 of Ratanpur Union Parishad in the upazila.
He committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his house at the village as what he stated in a chit was failed to meet the expectations of the people of his ward.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. They found a chit in his pocket that reads, “No one is responsible for my death. People elected me for development of the area but I could not meet their expectations. So, I had no other alternative but to kill myself”.
After autopsy, police handed Khagendra's body to his family on Saturday. He was cremated at Ratanpur crematory in the evening.
