BCL men vandalise principal's office room, disrupt exams
Bakerganj Govt College principal's office, examination hall and class rooms were vandalised yesterday allegedly by the BCL activists forcing the authorities to cancel the half-yearly test examinations of the college.
Witnesses said, a group of BCL activists led by college unit BCL president Sheikh Miraz asked the principal to handover the poor fund money to distribute those among the BCL cadres.
As the principal refused to do so, the BCL cadres locked the principal's office and vandalised it. They also disrupted the half-yearly test examinations and drove the students away from the campus at about 11:00am.
Nurul Islam, officer in charge of Bakerganj police station, said police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
No case was lodged by the college authorities till filling of this report in the afternoon.
M Enayet Hossain, principal of the college said, 347 students were appearing at the half-yearly test examinations and those were cancelled by the authorities due to the incident.
