HSTU teachers postpone work abstention
Teachers of Hajee Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) yesterday postponed the work abstention till 13 December following an assurance by the vice chancellor to resolve the crisis at the next meeting of the regent board.
The regent board meeting of the university is expected to be held on December 12, official sources said.
The 120 teachers of HSTU started work abstention for an indefinite period on Sunday last to realise two-point demand. The demands are promotion of every deserving teachers within the timeframe and immediate implementation of the order for promotion of associate professors.
Earlier on November 29, the teachers submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor in this regard.
The teachers also alleged disparity in promoting teachers.
