2 murdered in Tangail
Two people were murdered in Kalihati upazila on Sunday night and yesterday morning.
Police recovered the bodies from a water body.
The unidentified men, aged between 30 and 35, were floating on the water body. Their hands were tied with ropes while throats were tied with pieces of cloths, police and witnesses said.
Local people informed police when they saw the bodies under the Pushna bridge at Palima village under Narandia union, said officer in-charge (OC) Zahirul Islam of Kalihati police station.
Police sent the bodies to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“We suspect that the youths might have been murdered at some other place and later their bodies were dumped in the water body,” the OC added.
A murder case was filed with the police station in this regard.
At least 12 other people including three women were murdered in six upazilas in the district last month.
