2 killed in road accidents
Two people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Chapainawabganj yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Chittagong reports: Ashiqur Rahman, 32, son of Bangladesh Cricket Board Director Shafiqur Rahman Munna, was killed and two others were injured when his car skidded off the road at Barik building intersection in the port city yesterday.
The injured are his wife Jerin Jafar, 25, and their driver Mamtaj Ali, 45.
Police said Ashiqur himself was driving the car and lost his control over the steering in the area around 1:10am.
The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Later, Jerin was shifted to a private clinic in the city.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent adds: An elderly man Bhadu Mondal, of Shibganj upazila, was killed when a straw-laden trolley fell onto the roadside lowland burying him under the straw at Chatra village in the upazila around 6:45am yesterday.
