Youth drowns
A young man drowned while bathing in Kumar river yesterday.
Victim Tusher Ahmed, 22, son of late Jamir Uddin of Rajnagar village under Shailkupa upazila was a diploma engineer.
He had come to visit his sister at Kabirpur village under the upazila.
Officer in charge (OC) Ahsan Habib of Shailkupa police station said, at about 4.00pm on Saturday, Kabir went to Kumar river for bathing.
Kabir went missing after he jumped into the river. Locals rushed to the spot and tried their best to rescue him but failed. His body was recovered from the river yesterday morning.
