3 'commit' suicide in Satkhira

Three people, including an Indian national, allegedly committed suicide here yesterday. The victims were Bhudhar Mondal, 72, son of Hajra Mondal of Fakrabad village, Azihar Rahman, 38, son of Wahed Ali Baksa of Madra village in Kalaroa upazila and Erfan Ansari, 30, an Indian national and son of Enamul Ansari of Paschimbanga, India, who was living with his Bangladeshi wife at Durgapur village in Assasuni upazila. Quoting local people police said, Bhudhar committed suicide by hanging himself from the beam of the roof of his house at about 5:30 am yesterday following a family feud. Locals found the body of Indian national Erfan hanging from the branch of a tree near his father-in-law's house at Durgapur village early yesterday. He used to maintain his family by doing tailoring work at Assassuni bazar after marrying Rupali Khatun, daughter of Azharul Islam Dhali of the village about a year ago. Because of his Indian nationality, a case was filed against him with a judicial magistrate's court here recently. Azihar committed suicide by hanging himself from the branch of a mango tree near his house at about 6:00 am yesterday. He had a quarrel with his wife before committing suicide, police quoting the victim's relative said. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Satkhira morgue for postmortem.
