Punish killers of Shapla: ASK

Staff Correspondent
Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), a rights organisation, condemning the killing of a teenage female garment worker Shapla Begum in the city's Dakkhinkhan area on Wednesday, demanded yesterday exemplary punishment to the killers. A group of stalkers waylaid Shapla while she was returning home from work around 9:30pm and started harassing her. As she refused a love proposal, they stabbed her dead. ASK also alleged that the victim did not get fruit after complaining against the stalkers to the local police station in past. However, a transport worker Billal Hossain, also a neighbour of Shapla, surrendered before the police station with the knife he used to kill her, claiming that he and Shapla were engaged in a love affair for several months.
