Nipun confesses to killing father, stepmother and her son

Hamidul Umar alias Nipun, held along with 3 aides on Sunday on charge of killing three of a family on Saturday, said he willingly had killed his stepmother Banya and to others. Nipun, 20, son of Ferdous Hossain,48, with the help of three accomplices allegedly killed his father, Ratna Begum alias Banya, 23, third wife of Ferdous and her male child Pronoy,3, on Saturday at Chalapara in the town. Nipun's alleged accomplices Shakil, Taposh and Al-Amin are still at large. Police arrested Nipun on Sunday for interrogation. The four allegedly stabbed Ferdous to death and strangled Ratna Begum and child Pronoy. Police said Nipun gave statement under Section 161 to superintendent of police (SP) Abdur Razzak on Sunday night and under Section 164 to senior judicial magistrate Md Rashed Talukder. He confessed that he along with his three accompleces killed his stepmother Banya, stepbrother Pronoy and father Ferdous at 7.00 pm on Saturday night at their Chalapara residence. In presence of the magistrate and police, Nipun stated that his relationship with his step mother Banya soured recently. Besides, his father got married thrice for which he lost confidence upon his father. As a result he suffered from mental agony and planned to kill his step mother Banya and step brother Pronoy, he added. For the purpose, he hired three friends-Shakil, Taposh and Al-Amin promising to give Tk15 thousand after the killing mission. According to the plot, Nipun called his three friends to his house over cell phone at 6:30pm on Saturday. At that time Nipun's father Ferdous was not at the house. They first tied up Banya's hands and mouth and killed Pronoy using a pillow. Then they strangled Banya and hung her body with a ceilling fan of the room. As Nipun's father Ferdous returned to the house, the four stabbed him to death. According to family sources, Ferdous Hossain was an auditor at an accounts office at Dhubaura upazila in Mymensingh. He lived with his third wife Banya, her male child Pronoy and Nipun, son from his first wife Monowara Begum. He devorced his second wife. Ratna Begum alias Banya's mother Mabia Begum filed a case with Jamalpur Sadar police station on Sunday night accusing Nipun of the killing.
