Three men electrocuted
Three people were electrocuted in three districts yesterday.
Construction worker Abdul Matin, 40, a resident of Patarpara area in Joypurhat municipality was electrocuted yesterday, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
Police said Matin, along with others, were working on rooftop of an under construction building in Mondalpara area of the district town.
He accidentally came in contact with an electric wire there and died instantly at around 12.10pm.
In Lalmonirhat, a Railway employee was electrocuted at the powerhouse of the district's railway station at noon yesterday.
Victim Abul Kalam, 35, of Babupara village in the town, was an electrician of Lalmonirhat railway powerhouse.
OC of GRP police station Zohir Uddin Pramanik said Abul Kalam died while trying to connect a cable with the main switch board, reports our correspondent.
In Habiganj, a man was electrocuted at a poultry farm at Pirergaon village in Chunarughat upazila early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Mia, 35, son of Abdul Monnaf of the village, reports UNB.
Police said Anwar touched an electric wire when he went to a poultry farm of the village allegedly to steal chicken from it and died instantly at around 4 am.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy at noon.
