Our Correspondent, Rangamati
Criminals Friday midnight freed the eight villagers they had abducted at noon from their homes at Naraichhari village in Barkal upazila. The victims said they were abducted by the anti-peace United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) who threatened them with dire-consequences if they did not join UPDF, according to Idris Ali, sub-inspector of Barkal police station. A gang of armed men numbering around 15 picked the eight villagers at Naraichhari at gunpoint. They took them to deep forest, said Idris.
