Parliamentary committee to enhance Dhaka-Tokyo ties formed
The ruling Democratic Party of Japan formed a parliamentary committee to strengthen financial, political and cultural relations with Bangladesh.
Yoshikatsu Nakayama, parliamentary committee on economy, trade and industry, and Kimiaki Matsuzaki, chairman, special committee on political ethics and election law of Japan, were made chairman and vice-chairman of the committee respectively, said a press release yesterday.
The first time from outside Japan, Bangladeshi businessman Feroz Alam has been made honorary director of the parliamentary committee, it said. Feroz Alam is a member of Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the director of Mercantile Bank, Rtv and Premier Leasing and Finance Ltd.
