Woman burnt alive
An octogenarian woman was burnt alive in a fire incident at Sarkarpara village in Moidandighi union under Boda upazila in Panchagarh on Sunday midnight. Three others were injured and 13 houses were gutted. The deceased was identified as Gomiza Khatun, 80, of the same village. Fire brigade and local sources said, the fire originated from a lamp at one Sirajul Islam's house at 11:30pm and soon engulfed the adjacent houses. The ailing elderly woman, mother of Sirajul Islam, died in fire as she was unable to move and the family members failed to bring her out of the room as the fire spread fast.
