<i>Boy murdered for 'not giving ransom'</i>
A 10-year-old boy was killed allegedly by criminals as his parents failed to pay Tk 4 lakh ransom.
Police yesterday morning recovered the body dumped under the earth beside the boy's house.
Abdul Karim, father of victim Meraz Ahmed, alleged that a couple introducing themselves as husband and wife, rented a portion of his house two months ago. He said the couple night have killed his son and hid the body under the earth as they fled the house early in the morning.
Karim further said that the child went missing on Friday. The next day, an unknown caller over a cell phone demanded a ransom of Tk 4 lakh from him for release of the boy.
Last Friday, Karim's family went to one of their relatives' house. They thought that Meraz had returned home early, but on their return they did not get him anywhere despite hectic search.
