Jubo Dal factions observe founding day separately

Rival factions of Magura district unit of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal yesterday held separate programmes, marking the 33rd founding anniversary of the party while its Chapainawabganj unit split into two factions after formation of a new committee on Monday. Our Magura correspondent reported that the two factions--one led by district unit President Alamgir Hossain and the other by unit leader Abu Sayeed al Mamun--held rallies and processions in the town separately. Alamgir group arranged its meeting at the auditorium of Sayed Ator Ali Public Library while Mamun group on the premises of district BNP office at Shahid Mintu Road. District BNP leaders Khan Hasan Imam Suja, Faruk Ahmed Babul, and Jubo Dal leaders Ashrafuzzaman Shamim and Riadul Hakim Farhad addressed the rally at the library auditorium with Alamgir Hossain in the chair. The meeting at Shahid Mintu Road was addressed, among others, by district BNP leaders Ali Ahmed Biswas, advocate Ahmed Hossain, Aminul Islam Shelly, Abdul Gafur, and district Jubo Dal leaders Washikur Rahman Kallol, Shahidul Islam Rupak and Amirul Islam. Abu Sayeed al Mamun presided. In Chapainawabganj, The district committee of Jubo Dal split into two factions after the central committee made Obaidul Islam Pathan and Tabiul Islam Tarif president and general secretary of the unit on Monday. Both factions held two separate rallies at separate venues in the town in observance of the 33rd founding anniversary of the party yesterday, according to our correspondent. Obaidul's men organised their rally at Chapainawabganj Town Club auditorium while their rivals led by Asadullah, former convenor of Jubo Dal district unit, held their meeting in front of BNP sadar upazila unit at Pathan Para in the town. After the meeting, Asadullah group took out a procession in the town and burnt the effigy of central Jubo Dal President Sayed Moazzem Hossain Alal.
