One arrested with 4000 pieces of yaba tablets
DB police arrested a man along with 4000 pieces of sex stimulating yaba tablets and 200 pieces of Indian sari from a microbus at Adhuria on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sonargaon upazila on Saturday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Zahirul Islam alias Bappi of Binodpur area of Noakhali district. He was residing in Rayerbazar area of Dhaka.
DB police Badrul Alam said, on secret information, a team raided the area and arrested Zahirul with the yaba tablets worth Tk 8 lakh and Indian sari worth Tk 2 lakh. They also seized the microbus.
In Manikganj, police arrested a drug peddler along with 5kgs of hemp at Kak village in Shibaloy upazila on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Azahar Ali, 40, hailed from Neel village of the upazila.
OC Rezaul Karim of Shibaloy PS said, on secret information, police launched a drive at 9:00pm and arrested Azahar. They later seized 5kgs of hemp from his possession.
