Girl rescued, 'abductor' arrested
Criminals abducted a girl student of class nine at Kalikapur High School under Sonapur union of Sonaimuri upazila yesterday morning while she was going to school.
Begumganj police however rescued the girl six hours after the kidnapping and detained an abductor.
Police and local people said Naimul Islam Rakib, 16, son of late Golam Sarwar of Kalikapur village along with some accomplic obstructed the three-wheeler in which the 14-year old girl was going to school. They took the girl to a tea stall at Hossainpur village under Begumganj police station.
Being suspicious at the behaviour of Rakib, locals held him and the girl and informed police.
A police team rushed to the spot and rescued the abducted girl at around 2 pm. They also detained Rakib. Begumganj police later sent both to Sonaimuri police station as both of them belonged to the area.
