Housewife 'killed for dowry'
Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife at Haripur-Miapara of Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.
The deceased was Sumoti Bala Dasi, 27, wife of Hirendra Nath Saha of Haripur-Miapara in the town.
Police said the body was hanging from ceiling with rope in her room around 6:30pm and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that she was killed by her husband and in laws as they used to torture her regularly demanding dowry.
Sumoti's husband and other members of his family went into hiding after the incident.
