Lightning kills 2 women
Two women were killed in lightning at Vadra and Talbaria villages in Harinakundu upazila on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Jarina Khatun, 55, wife of Fazar Ali of Talbaria village and Amena Khatun, 41, wife of Mahtab Uddin of Vadra village. Locals said Jarina went to a nearby field to bring back cows amid heavy downpour and died instantly when a thunderbolt struck her in the morning. In another incident, lightning struck Amena Khatun leaving her dead on the spot when she was sitting on the veranda of her house in the evening.
