10 houses gutted
Ten houses were gutted in a devastating fire at Kirtoli housing project in Manda upazila yesterday.
Witnesses said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the house of Jahanara Bibi and soon engulfed the adjoining nine houses at about 10 am.
Abdur Razzak, 45, Atorjan Bewa, 60, Saiful Islam, 40 and Momtaz Uddin, 40 were injured trying to douse the flame. Razzak was admitted to upazila health complex.
The affected house owners claimed that the estimated loss caused by the fire was about Tk 10 lakh.
