Mob locks power office
Local power subscribers locked the office of the resident power engineer in Sarail upazila yesterday protesting their harassment through 'fake bill'.
Local sources said, the subscribers in a procession went to the office at about 11:00am protesting inconsistency in billing and extra billing and demanding the removal of engineer Shah Alam.
The mob laid a siege to the office and put the main gate under lock and key after engineer Shah Alam and other officials and employees fled the office sensing trouble.
Later, the agitated people went to upazila chairman and UNO and submitted memorandums to them seeking redress to their problem.
