Three outlaws arrested in Khulna, Rajshahi
Three outlaws were arrested in Khulna and Rajshahi districts yesterday and the day before.
Police arrested two outlaws in Dumuria and Digholia upazilas of Khulna on Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Swapon Kumar Roy alias Dublu, 38, and Mithu Molla,36, reports our staff correspondent.
Swapon was arrested from a house at Patibunia village under Dumuria upazila. Police recovered a revolver from his possession. Swapon was wanted in 10 criminal cases for murder, extortion and kidnapping for ransom since 2001, Dumuria police said.
The arrested outlaw is an armed cadre of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (M-L), OC Ashraf Ali of Dumuria police station said.
A case under Arms Act was recorded against him yesterday morning.
According to the OC, Swapon was convicted by a court for his involvement in the murders of shrimp traders Kauser Ali, Ramjan Ali and Kauser Molla of Shovna union under Dumuria upazila on October 14 in 2001. Besides, he is one of the FIR-named accused in the case for looting arms from a havilder of Baniakhali police camp under the same upazila on October 13 last year.
In another drive, police arrested an armed cadre of Janajuddho faction of outlawed PBCP from his hideout at Gazirhat under Digholia upazila of the district.
Arrestee Mithu Molla is son of Abdul Malek Molla of Katenga village under Terokhada upazila.
According to police, outlaw Mithu Molla was wanted in seven criminal cases including two for murder filed against him with Terokhada police station.
Mithu was planning a criminal operation along with some of his accomplices at his hideout on Wednesday afternoon, they said.
Meanwhile, Ataikula police of Pabna arrested Md Shahid Uddin, 35, a top operative of outlawed PBCP Janajudha from Rajpara in Rajshahi district early yesterday, reports our Pabna correspondent.
Officer in-charge of Ataikula police station Md Robiul Hasan said Shahid alias 'murderer' Shahid of PBCP Janajudhha was in hiding since long. He is accused in seven cases including for murder and extortion. He was one of the most wanted criminals on our list, the OC said.
