Six held on suspicion
Six people were held but no case was lodged in connection with Jubo League leader Ilias Hossain murder in Gafargoan upazila till filing of this report at around 6.50 pm yesterday.
Unidentified criminals killed Ilias Hossain, 32, a member of Jubo League Gafargoan unit and injured eight others at his Beldia village home early Wednesday.
A gang of at least seven criminals stormed into Ilias's house around 1:00am and attacked him. He died on the spot.
Gafargoan police arrested five people yesterday noon on suspicion of their involvement in Jubo league leader Ilias murder.
The arrestees were identified as Nayon, 26, Mojnu Khan 38, Jamal Uddin 18, and Nasir uddin, 45, and Abdul Ghani, 35, all hailed from Gafargoan upazila, police said.
They were being interrogated at the police station, police said.
